Ideally suited to refurbishment projects, this system will need a ridge insulated board fitted between existing joists Underfloor heating pipework is attached to the insulation and pipework is then covered by a semi dry sand and cement screed mix.

Flooring is then attached to the joists in the normal manner.
The purpose of the screed is to provide a thermal mass which will absorb the underfloor heating systems heat, which will in turn be gently released into the living areas above.
